Salta is growing, and so is its traffic. In our province, where daily commuting distances feel increasingly longer, carpooling emerges as a key solution: you save time and money while caring for the air we breathe.
At NSL Foundation, we are actively promoting this practice with a dual objective: improving the city's air quality and reducing our collective carbon footprint.
The Challenge of Greater Salta Both in Greater Salta and San Lorenzo—added to the urban boom of San Lorenzo Chico—vehicular flow toward the city center has increased drastically. During peak hours, the beltway (circunvalación) and access avenues become saturated, generating delays and pollution.
The key fact: The vast majority of cars coming down from San Lorenzo or arriving from the Valle de Lerma carry only the driver.
The solution: If 4 neighbors share a single vehicle, we immediately take 3 cars off the road. Less congestion on Av. Perón or Route 51 means less smog and less stress behind the wheel.
The Valle de Lerma Connection For those commuting daily from Cerrillos, La Merced, or El Carril, the impact is even greater. Sharing the ride not only cuts fuel costs in half (or more) but also drastically lowers the carbon footprint per passenger on these long stretches.
